South

impressive. Badlands was eerie, empty and especially cold.

|
Dec
15th, 2005, March 1st - 3rd & March 7th - 9th, 2006 |
Wyoming
home to Yellowstone National Park impressive not for the geysers but
also the wildlife. Also skied the Tetons. |
|
Jan
22nd - 24th, March 4th - 6th & 10th - 11th, 2006 |
Idaho - land of stone chips. We cracked the windscreen 4 times in 2
days as they do not believe in sand and salt, instead rocks seem like a
good alternative. Great scenery and big mountains. |
 |
Dec
19th - 22nd, 2005, March 29th - April 3rd & April 11th
- 19th, 2006 |
Washington
- unfortunately we are missing photos from here too. Home to Bill
Gates, but did not pop in for coffee though his MS office was quiet
cool. |
 |
Dec
17th - 18th, 2005, Jan 17th - 21st & May 23rd 2006 |
Oregon
where we registered Hopper and home to Crater Lake. A great green state
with beautiful scenery. The Colombia Gorge and its frozen waterfalls
were amazing. |
 |
Dec
19th - 22nd, & 24th 2005 - Jan 16th 2006 |
California,
Neil and Hopper's birth state, has it all. Great weather, wonderful
State and National Parks.
Our route had us criss crossing the state and having fun where ever we
went. Our only unplanned stop was in Bishop
California - a
few days after picking up Hopper, Ford replaced the main
prcessor
and all was good! |
 |
Dec
22nd & 23rd 2005, & Jan 28th, 2006. |
Nevada
- we passed through a couple of times, both times touching on Las
Vegas |
 |
Jan
29th - Feb 6th, Feb 13th - 15th & Feb 28th, 2006 |
Arizona
- more red sandstone, but not as much as Utah. More spread out and
slashed in half by the Grand Canyon. |
 |
Jan
24th - 27th & Feb 16th - 22nd, 2006 |
Utah
a
land of an awful lot of red sandstone most of which is really
impressive. Trouble is there is sooo much. By the end you feel you have
done red sandstone. |
 |
Feb
7th - 11th, 2006 |
New
Mexico
- finally down in the Sun checking out caves, old ruins, natural
springs and some great scenery. However, our time was short
as we
headed north to get to Yellowstone before it closed. |
 |
Feb
23rd - 27th, 2006 |
Colorado
-
we entered bottom left, slid up the left side and exited top left. What
we saw was great but we barely tickled this state. |
 |
March
12th - 20th, 2006 |
Montana
was
very beautiful, however, many of our photos of the wildlife and views
seem to have disappeared. Hopefully, we will find more soon and update
this link to show Glacier National Park and many of the deer. |
 |
May
2nd - 18th, 2006 |
Alaska.
Really opens for tourists in the middle of May. We were there a couple
of weeks early, the weather was fine but the grass and trees had not
turned green after the snow had gone. Great wildlife, great views and
few inhabitants. |
