Route Through the Americas A route of around 40,000 miles in 16 months is the Plan. Starting in New York, we headed west straight across route 90. Destination Oregon to pick a new Oregon driving license. Then down to CA to pick up Hopper the new van. Then it was back up to Oregon to register it. Still cold up north we headed down to New Mexico before bouncing back up towards Canada and Alaska. Simple route but detours everywhere to see many of the National and State Parks. Taking the Inside passage down from Alaska we headed straight for Central America, down the Baja across to Belize and then down; Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama. We shipped Hopper from Colon, Panama to Colombia and then turned right and proceeded down through Ecuador, Peru a zig zag via Bolivia and the Brazilian border before south again through Argentina and Chile. Once at the bottom its a trip to Antarctica then bounce up to Buenos Aires to ship Hopper back to the USA. While en route in a container we will bounce back by air to the US via Brazil. |
